Dr. Kristin is a Palmer graduate, specializing in nutrition. With training in Chinese Medicine, Methylation, and NET amongst other specialties, she is the unicorn of chiropractic care. She has an innovative brain that is so fun to pick. Most repeated remark about her from patients, “I wish we could clone her! She is magic.” Dr. Kristin never stops learning and creating ways to offer holistic treatment to our patients. From her brain to her heart, she is truly golden.

Dr. Shiver is certified in Applied Kinesiology, NET (emotional stress relief) and acupuncture. She also completed post graduate courses in chiropractic pediatrics and enjoys working with expectant mothers and children. Her biggest love is biochemistry and helping people optimize their potential through individualized supplementation and diet.

Dr. Dean Chance is a fourth generation Chiropractor! He is a Palmer graduate with an affinity for Neurobiology, fitness, and nutrition. with a family steeped in experience, his love for Chiropractic goes back to childhood. Dr. Dean’s passion comes from his own personal testimony of very literally watching a chiropractic adjustment save the life of a close loved one during a hospital stay. His care is versatile and profound.

Dr. Dean Chance completed his bachelors degree from the University of Florida, where his focus was on exercise physiology. Dr. Dean graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with highest honors. He is currently working on an advanced diplomate status in both nutrition and functional neurology. He is the only person to ever score 100% on the Quintessential Applications certification exam. He is also a runner and enjoys working with athletes. Dr. Dean’s favorite nickname given to him by patients is “Dr. PR” (Personal Record/Best). In his free time he also enjoys Gator sporting events and playing with his two children.

dr. doug guilbault

Dr. Doug is a Palmer graduate who is the ONLY chiropractor certified in ART (Active Release Technique) in the North Florida region. ART is a non-invasive treatment system precisely engineered to locate and quickly resolve soft-tissue disorders. Dr. Doug is very passionate about providing specialized care to those in pain, and has his own personal journey of healing with Chiropractic care after he was in a traumatic car accident.

Dr. Doug Guilbault is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida campus. In addition to chiropractic, he specializes in soft tissue evaluation and management using Active Release Technique (ART): a hands-on method that helps relax tight or injured muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Having a love of golf, he has undergone advanced training through Titleist Performance Institute and is certified in Functional Movement Screening. He works with anyone, from the professional athlete to the weekend warrior, to those sitting 9-5 at a desk utilizing a variety of techniques including cupping, exercise therapy, spinal adjusting, flexion-distraction, manual and fascial scraping techniques to optimize joint function. Having personally navigated his own injuries resulting from a car accident, he has a passion for helping those recovering from personal injury.

shauna nettles, MSN, APRN, NP-C, CLC

Shauna Nettles is a Nurse Practitioner who received her bachelor’s in nursing from Florida State University and earned her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain College of Nursing.

She has practiced as a pediatric nurse for 11 years, mainly in pediatric intensive care. As a long-time patient of Back in Balance, she is focusing her Nurse Practitioner career on holistic and preventive medicine. Shauna is certified in utilizing the BioScan SRT (Stress Reduction Testing) machine, and received training from Dr. Kristin in methylation, as well as operating the Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM/MEND) device. Shauna is excited to help patients achieve improved holistic health!
